The U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Association (NEODA) was organized in Virginia Beach Virginia in October of 1983 and incorporated by the Commonwealth of Virginia in March of 1989. The name was changed in March of 2006 to Navy & Marine Corps Explosive Ordnance Disposal Association Inc (N&MCEODA).
The association was formed with the primary mission to foster fraternal relationships between former and active duty members of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps EOD community. This is accomplished through the quarterly publication of the N&MCEODA Newsletter, The Disposaleer, the periodic publication of a membership directory, and the sponsorship of the biennial N&MCEODA reunions. Reunions are normally rotated between locations east and west of the Mississippi River.
For Navy and Marine Corps EOD personnel, particularly former active duty or retired personnel who want to keep up with what is current in EOD, and maintain contact with their old EOD buddies, membership in the N&MCEODA is the best means to accomplish these goals.
